*7th century BC: The Horatii defeated the Curatii of Alba Longa.
*5th century BC: Aulus Cornelius Cossus One of only three Roman Generals ever to be awarded the spolia opima. Killing the king of the Veientes, Lars Tolumnius in single combat.
